The Church of Agios Nicolas is an extremely important post Byzantium memorial piece of art.
The temple was built replacing the old church , which had been destroyed in 1867, funded by a banker called Mr Michas Triplis.
It was burnt down and destroyed in 1947.
A third church was erected in its place in 1951, with expenditure of the Union of Editors of daily newspapers, keeping the exterior part of the walls rock-embossed . In 2000 the temple was restored with profound costs of Nicholas I. Sossidi.
